Longleat Safari Park

A few weeks ago, my family and I went to Longleat,Wiltshire! It was really fun and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

After a 2 hour drive, we arrived in Longleat! We decided to have a look at the other animals that they had before going on the safari itself. The first animal we saw were the adorable meerkats! Behind us were big, black sloths and otters. The otters were sleeping so we decided to leave them alone. There were pythons and rare butterfly’s and ferrets and Giant Millipedes….. Ewwwww! If those animals were too much well…….. I have more! Goats, Weird looking birds and, speaking of birds we came face to beak with the incredibly noisy and incredibly colorful Rainbow Lorikeets! Yes, I know what you are probably thinking “But TK, Your not meant to be in the exhibits. But TK Didn’t you get told off? But TK!” Whoa! Stop with your questions, dear reader, and let me explain. We were allowed to go in with the Rainbow Lorikeets to feed them! Feed them nectar to be precise. As soon as we stepped through the door, Mum was swarmed by the Lorikeets (She was the one with the food after all!) and one landed gently on my head. Sadly, it flew away before she could take the picture! Finally, we went to the Handling house and saw a python, chameleon, Giant Millipede and a Golden Orb Spider!

Apple Store “Camp”

Hey There! A few days ago I went to West Quay to do something very special. I went to Apple Camp! It ran for an hour and a half every morning for three days. I chose the IBook course, which is making your own story on Macs. On day one it started with brain storming your ideas into a storyline and a title. My story title was Super-Dog v.s Flying Killer Tomatoes! Silly, you’re all probably saying. Tell me something I don’t know! Day two was all about illustrations and putting it all together. What good book doesn’t have pictures! All of my pictures were ok, not great, but ok. It all came together fine and finally it was presentation day. My family said my story was the best there but my pictures weren’t up to much (disclaimer: that is not actually what they said about my drawings!) It was a great experience and, what’s even better is the celebratory pancake I had afterwards! TK

Khan Acadamy

Hello there everyone! This is my first post from my new computer! I’m very exited about it but I’ll get to that in another blog post. The reason I’m here posting today is because I’ve been using an amazing site called Khan Academy! Its mostly good for maths but it has other subjects on there too: History, Music, R.E and you can do whatever you like on it! There are also badges you can collect for certain things, here is the list of rarity in the badges. The Meteorite badges are so easy to get, its ridiculous! Next up its the Moon badges. Quite easy to get but It takes time. Now its the Earth badges. Harder to get than Moon badges but its so worth it! You feel like you’ve really achieved something! Up next is the Sun badges. Really hard to get but again, its worth it. Second to last on our list are the Black Hole badges. They are so rare there are only three of them. A pure achievement! And last but certainly not least, the Challenge patches. Despite their name, they are not that much of a challenge to get unless you go for some hard ones. Here is my badge count Meteorite: 14Khan acadamy.png Moon: 9 Earth: 2 Sun: 0 Black Hole: 0 Challenge: 7 Also you can add a coach to Khan Acadamy, preferably your parents. They can watch you live, see what you are doing and can even earn badges themselves! When you start you can pick your own avatar! There are three choices, Piesarus, Aquarius and Leafers. This is an amazing website and I suggest you use it!
